New Italian Cinema 2015 San Francisco (11-15 November)

Once again, San Francisco will host the New Italian Cinema festival, a wonderful opportunity to see new Italian films from young emerging filmmakers and seasoned masters alike. Co-presented by the San Francisco Film Society, the Italian Cultural Institute and New Italian Cinema Events of Florence, this 19th annual celebration of world-class cinema is dedicated to bringing Italy’s newest directors and films to Bay Area audiences and celebrating the country’s rich cinematic tradition.

Notable guests from recent years have included Paolo Sorrentino, director of the Oscar-winning film The Great Beauty (2013), actress and director Valeria Golino (2012), Edoardo Ponti (2014), Carlo Virzì (2012), Silvio Soldini (2013) and Nanni Moretti (2011), among dozens of others.
The full program, including film details, screening information and expected guests, will be announced on Wednesday October 14. The line-up, however, promises to be an exciting one: scheduled to grace the Vogue Theater screen are celebrated titles like Mia Madre by Nanni Moretti and Youth by Paolo Sorrentino, as well as emerging directors like Lamberto Sanfelice(Cloro, a Sundance Festival selection)and Alessia Scarso (Mi chiamo Alice).
