STORIES OF ITALIAN IMMIGRATION IN THE BAY AREA

SEPTEMBER 18th 2019

COMITES is pleased to invite you to an event premiering its newly released documentary, Italians By The Bay, and showcasing its recently published photo book, La Valle del Silicio. Both projects, financed by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, feature interviews with Italian professionals living in the Bay Area and Silicon Valley and present an original snapshot of what it means to be an Italian immigrant in the Bay Area or an Italian professional abroad.
The film screening will be followed by a discussion (in English) on the recent wave of intellectual immigration with a panel with Alessandra Cassar, Professor of Economics at USF; Lucina Di Meco, Director of Girls’ Education at Room to Read and Global Fellow at The Wilson Center; Elisabetta Ghisini, Professor of Practice at Hult International Business School and President of COMITES SF; Salvatore Mandrà, Researcher at NASA Ames; Serena Zanello, Architect. The panel is moderated by journalist Anna Volpicelli. The presentation will take place at the presence of the Consul General of Italy in San Francisco, Lorenzo Ortona.
