Maria Manetti Shrem Awards
For AP Italian 2021/2022 Academic Year
Awards honoring Italian American Philanthropist Ms. Maria Manetti Shrem are available through the COMITES (Committee of Italians Abroad), under the auspices of the Consulate of Italy in San Francisco, to support students taking the AP Italian Language and Culture Exam, 2022.
As an effort to increase the number of AP Italian Language and Culture Exams, candidates can apply in the following territories: Northern California, Utah, Idaho, Washington, Alaska, Hawaii, Montana, and Oregon.
Who can apply?
Students
- Students (or their guardians if students are minors) preparing and taking for AP Italian Language and Culture Exam independently. (Application Form A)
- Italian Exchange students enrolled in junior or senior classes in local High Schools, preparing and taking for the AP Italian Language and Culture Exam. (Application Form A)
Teachers
- Teachers in schools preparing students for the AP Italian Language and Culture Exam and wishing to acknowledge them with a monetary token. (Application Form B)
What can the Awards be used for?
Incentive prizes for students with a high score (3 and above) at the AP Italian Language and Culture Exam ($100 for score 5, $80 for score 4, $50 for score 3).
How do I know if I get the Award?
An Award Review Committee with representatives from COMITES will review each application on a case-by-case basis.
What are the requirements to receive the awards?
Students commit to take the AP Italian Language and Culture exam 2022 and upload the screenshot of the College Board webpage with the AP Exam score no later than October 31, 2022 on google form – Score Upload
How and when will I get the award?
Checks and/or money orders will be mailed to the recipients with a certificate of appreciation from the COMITES and the Consulate General of Italy by the end of December 2022.
What is the deadline for submitting my application?
All applications must be submitted through google form no later than 30 April 2022.
